It is time to announce that The "PANAMA RED" band is taking a well earned break from the live music scene..as what was PANAMA RED..
many of you will have heard various rumours and speak..
this officially anounces the boys news.
the band have found family and work life has at this time(credit crunch ), has become too important to allow themselves the time and effort to give you our fans the high level of showmanship we have prided ourselves on for many years..
it is heartbreaking for us to have to tell you this but we feel that this needed to come from us and not roumours etc..
we would like to THANK YOU ALL very very much for the support you have shown over 22 years of the bands life..
the boys are all still the greatest of pals and there has been no anamosity whatsoever between anyone, we are all toooo grown up for that bullshit..
once again MANY MANY THANKS for youre support over the 22 years xxxxxxx

THE POINT - ALIVE!
Great news for The Point - after the threat of closure due to a noise complaint, we've been working closely with Cardiff council and as a result the scheduled court action for the end of May has been deferred. We've agreed a plan to further soundproof the venue and reduce the noise emitting from the venue. This extensive work will be carried out through most of August. We’ve now busy trying to raise the £50,000 we need to complete the work. Thanks to everyone who signed the Keep The Point Alive petition, and for all your support so far. We’ll keep updating you with news, but at least it’s back to business as usual and we’ve helped keep music very much alive in Cardiff.

Who are we?
PANAMA RED are a 5 peice band consisting of :-
"OZ" - plays lead guitar,foo fighters rule
"Bluesbreaker" - plays rhythm guitar,stick things,whistlethings and any thing
Owain - plays bassy thingy
Dai - plays tin pans from mams
Lee - triangle
Vocals by us all.
We play quite a varied set, including songs by these bands :
AC/DC, The Darkness, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Feeder, Ash, Joe Satriani, Tom Petty, The Cars, Jimi Hendrix, The White Stripes, Dandy Warholes, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Wheatus, The King's of Leon, U2, Status Quo, Supergrass, The Strokes, Stereophonics, Ugly Kid Joe, The Coral, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Judas Priest, Electric 6, Queen, ABBA, John Denver, Radiohead, Blink 182, Van Morrison, Neil Young, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Eat World, Fleetwood Mac, The Bloodhound Gang, Dick Dale, .....Plus one or two of our own! Please let us know of any songs you'd like us to do.
We have played together in this present line up since Decmber 2000. We all live in WALES in a town called Tonyrefail which is about 18 miles north of Cardiff, excpet OZ, who emigrated to Gorsiegnon .
Our performances are not to be missed as you will see by the photographs and involve lots more than just fine rock music it is also a "visual spectacle".
We try to give " YOU "
what has been missing in the current crop of bands for quite a long time and that is - a truley all out showpeice and having fun.......
All the boys in the band are transformed into their own character by means of their own designed clothing and a splattering of face paint.
The music speaks for itself, but, combined with our stage getup we also have an awsome light show that is not to be missed.
Our gigs always last at least 2 hours over 30 songs
Our ultimate aim is to get a little recognition from an A&R person and get some time in a studio to really let you people see what we are more than capable of and that is to give you an album worth listening to.
